IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship Announces 2026 Mustang Challenge Schedule
The Mustang Challenge North America, an IMSA-sanctioned series featuring the Ford Mustang Dark Horse R, has unveiled its schedule for 2026. The championship will consist of 12 races, commencing in March at Sebring International Raceway in Florida and concluding in September at the Circuit of The Americas in Texas.
Throughout the season, the series will take place at six different venues, including Sebring and COTA, as well as WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca in California, Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course in Ohio, Watkins Glen International in New York, and VIRginia International Raceway in Virginia.
This championship is open to drivers with an FIA silver rating and features two classes: Dark Horse and Dark Horse Legends. All participants can compete in the Dark Horse class, while the Legends class is available for bronze-level drivers aged 45 and older. Each race weekend includes two 30-minute practice sessions, a 15-minute qualifying session, and two 45-minute sprint races, with all competitors driving a modified Mustang Dark Horse R.
